Connecting People with Nature
My background is in biological shock trauma therapy, which has given me a deeply rooted understanding of how our history, nature, and biology shape how we function in life. I also have a very concrete understanding of how our relationships shape who we become. With over 20 years of experience as a practicing therapist, I have helped people find their way to expressing themselves and living in deeper alignment with who they truly feel they are. This includes a practical understanding of how we can find our way to a more fulfilling life in, and with the help of, nature.
Working with people in crisis and shock, in all its various expressions, alongside my own personal journey, has given me a profound understanding and appreciation of self-care—the active choice to do good for ourselves. It is about sensing that something needs to be done, in both small and large ways, and actually doing it.
Experience with Health Travels
In my search for this very inner balance and self-care, I have traveled far and wide, acquiring a fundamentally holistic view of life and humanity. From Ayurvedic retreats in India to collaborating with an American shaman on ancient traditional rituals. From winter bathing to exploring Hawaiian life philosophy at the foot of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. Because of this, I know today that our lives consist of many different elements that all impact our quality of life. Relationships, habits, diet, and mindset are all vital.
In my own life, these many physical and spiritual journeys have made me who I am today. I am complex, like most people, but with an understanding of the impact of the choices I make. That includes the smaller choices, too—like sitting quietly for a while among the horses in the paddock, walking the dogs in the forest, and taking a daily dip in the fjord.
The journey to Travel To Longevity
Through my personal and professional experiences, I have seen how becoming aware of what has shaped me has helped me accept, understand, and act consciously in my life choices, allowing me to break free from automated patterns of behavior driven by the past.
Both as a therapist and in my own personal process, I have learned that every person is unique. It is an age-old truth, which in practice means that to genuinely help someone else, we must be able to see them for exactly who they are. And exactly where they are. Right there, we can also find the intention and the motivation to improve their experience of life. In my experience, intention and motivation are the crucial factors for change.
At Travel To, I have the opportunity to be present right where change begins. Right where a journey starts—both in a literal sense and on an inner level. It is a true gift to be a part of this.
